PRO - TECH is an advanced
Polyurethane anti-slip paint (coating) that lasts, the easy way
to protect and improve safety.
PRO - TECH is a unique,
advanced formula polyurethane anti-slip paint, incorporating
rubber granules to give a totally flexible anti-slip (non-slip)
finish that will not flake, chip or peel. With no mixing or
blending required, it can be easily applied to almost any
surface including metal, concrete, wood, fibreglass, plastic and
rubber leaving an attractive textured anti-slip finish that is
resistant to impacts.
Originally PRO - TECH was
designed for hard wearing automotive applications but has now
been used extensively within marine, building, construction and
industrial environments. PRO - TECH has been developed by
Duram in South Africa who have had over 20 years experience in
polyurethane coating technology.
PRO - TECH has many uses, be it
a wheelchair ramp, the deck of a boat, the tail lift of a lorry,
the steps of a building, the bed of a pick up truck, the
surround of a swimming pool and thousands more.
Technical data on
PRO - TECH
APPLICATION
PRO - TECH is a one component polyurethane that can be easily
applied by roller, brush or spray to provide an attractive
non-slip coating. Unlike other coatings it is non-abrasive and
so does not damage goods.
CURING TIME
Depending on temperature and humidity PRO - TECH can normally
be put into service in approximately 12-24 hours. Final chemical
resistance and physical properties are reached in 4-7 days.
COVERAGE
1.2 - 1.6m2 / litre for normal applications.
0.5 - 0.8m2 / litre for high wear applications.
COLOURS
Standard PRO - TECH is available in Black, Grey, Blue, Green
and Red. PRO - TECH (UVR) is available in White, Sand, Red,
Blue, Green, Mid Grey and Safety Yellow. The non UVR versions
will, as with all aromatic polyurethanes, darken slightly with
UV exposure and gloss is lost with time. The aliphatic UVR
versions offer greater colour fastness in areas of high UV
exposure and are less prone to fading in difficult conditions
such as salt or chlorinated water.
OVERCOATING AND REPAIRS
PRO - TECH can easily be repaired or over coated after
cleaning and sanding the surface.
SURFACE FINISH
PRO - TECH has a glossy finish which will go to a dull matt
with exposure to UV light and can be applied to give a
relatively smooth or rough finish.
SHELF LIFE AND POT LIFE
PRO - TECH has a shelf life of 1 year from date of
manufacture and is best used within 24 hrs from first opening.
STORAGE
Store indoors between 5-25°C out of direct sunlight. Excessive
temperature will cause thickening.

UV RESISTANCE
500 hrs of QUV accelerated weathering resulted in no
deterioration in physical properties and no surface cracking.
There will however be a loss of gloss and colour with continued
exposure. For areas with high UV exposure we recommend using the
UVR version.
IMPACT RESISTANCE
Due to its excellent flexibility, PRO - TECH has the ability
to stay bonded to substrates even when they are deformed by
impact.
CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
PRO - TECH has good chemical resistance to most dilute acids,
bases and salts and many solvents. Further details are available
on request.
TEMPERATURE RESISTANCE
PRO - TECH recommended service temperature is from -50C to
120C
